Introducing surface treatment at Nedschroef Beckingen

At the end of last year Nedschroef put into service a new surface treatment line at its production facility in Beckingen, Germany. The introduction of the new system for aluminum products was recently celebrated during a special inauguration ceremony.

Adding surface treatment for aluminum to the portfolio of the production facility in Beckingen would extend its in-house capabilities and help optimize logistics and quality processes. Therefore putting the idea into practice had already been on Nedschroef’s wish list for quite some time.

Joining forces
For the incorporation of the new process line, aluminum specialist Nedschroef Fraulautern joined forces with Nedschroef Beckingen. This production facility is not only situated nearby, but also has acquired comprehensive experience in the field of surface treatment over the last fifty years.

Project development
Both facilities set the requirements for the installment of the new surface treatment line and together with supplier MEA, they developed a system for applying a coating to the aluminum screws produced by Nedschroef Fraulautern. In order for it to be placed, one of Beckingen’s production halls was completely renovated.

Setup phase
In October 2016 Nedschroef Beckingen welcomed its new surface treatment line in partial deliveries to be assembled on-the-spot next. Construction of the 22 meters long and four meters wide MEA line took almost two weeks and was followed by a three month test phase.

Official inauguration
Last December all employees of Nedschroef Beckingen and COO Hanno Neizert came together for an official inauguration ceremony organized to celebrate the introduction of the brand new surface treatment line.
